Heavy Equipment Programs

Are you looking for a steady, strong and life long career? You could be one of America's proud Heavy Equipment Operators with the right certified training from Associated Training Services.

Heavy Equipment Bulldozer Operators

The Heavy Equipment Operator National Certification Programs are comprehensive, industry developed, nationally recognized curricula accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Students are taught heavy equipment operation by hands-on training with all pieces of heavy equipment and in a classroom setting.

These programs are designed to give a person the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to operate the following heavy equipment:

  • backhoes
  • wheel loaders
  • scrapers
  • excavators
  • bulldozers
  • road graders
  • rock trucks
  • Skid Steers
  • All-Terrain Forklifts

Interested individuals should contact their local school to verify which types of equipment are offered at that campus. In addition to operating heavy equipment, students are also taught:

  • grade reading
  • laser levels
  • soils
  • safety
  • site layouts
  • heavy equipment maintenance

These are the skills and knowledge employers are looking for and these are the subjects that are the key to our graduates securing a job as a heavy equipment operator. Associated Training Services (ATS) understands which subjects and what types of equipment are most important to the employers hiring ATS graduates.

Commercial Driver License (CDL) is offered in combination with the heavy equipment training and crane operator training at some ATS schools. The CDL is required to haul your equipment on a flatbed/lowboy trailer and to drive dump trucks on public roads. ATS schools also teach off-road dump trucks which do not require a CDL. Many construction industry employers value equipment operators with a CDL. The CDL component trains you to test and receive a Class-A CDL. If you are planning on getting our Class-A CDL, please be aware that there are some additional fees related to this part of the program which are not included in the tuition price.
